Media Luna Guitar Tuition students were well represented at this years Melbourne International Guitar Festival. A very proud day to see both students able to attend/perform place so highly and receive such great feedback from the adjudicators.
Congratulations to Piripi for placing second in the intermediate category with a spirited performance of Tango esta Noche (Vincent Lindsey-Clark) and Rondo in G (Mauro Giuliani).
Congratulations to Mia who competed in the beginners category and placed third. A wonderful performance of Nesta Rua (Trad) and Fandango (Vincent Lindsey-Clark).
All in all a great weekend of performances, masterclasses, workshops and great music. Special thanks to Evan and Michael at the Melbourne Guitar Foundation. See you all there again next year. The festival is certainly a highlight among the many performance opportunities offered to our classical guitar students – for more information get in touch via our contact page or drop by the studio in Brunswick West for a chat.
More about the Melbourne Guitar Foundation.
The Melbourne Guitar Foundation was founded in 2014 with a mission to promote and cultivate the classical guitar in Australia.
Our vision is of an engaged local community of guitarists contributing towards a culture of learning, support and sharing of ideas to create the best musical and artistic environment in Australia.
Through masterclasses, individual lessons, concerts, competitions and festivals, the MGF seeks to engage the Australian community with the best classical guitarists throughout the world. By nurturing and developing an Australian wide guitar family made up of professional concert artists, teachers, amateurs and enthusiasts alike we will encourage the next generation of Australian classical guitar concert artists.
